Wilhelm's Legacy
Jim Wilhelm devoted his life to the theatre and to the artists who bring it to life. Beginning his career as an actor, he went on to become a respected stage manager, casting director, and ultimately one of Broadway’s most influential talent agents—known not only for his eye for talent, but for his integrity, generosity, and unwavering advocacy for performers.
A leader within the industry, Jim served as Vice President of the National Association of Talent Representatives and was a founding board member of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, helping to champion care and support for members of the entertainment community. In 2010, he was honored as the first theatrical agent in history to be invited to vote for the Tony Awards—an acknowledgment of his lasting impact on Broadway.
Jim was deeply committed to mentorship and education, sharing his knowledge through master classes at universities and conservatories across the country. Most notably, he established an annual scholarship at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music in honor of his late client and dear friend, Broadway artist Laurie Beechman.
After 45 years in New York City, Jim retired in 2021 to Milford, Pennsylvania, with his husband, Jeff Potter. The Jim Wilhelm Memorial Fund honors his legacy by supporting artists, education, and advocacy—continuing the work Jim believed in so deeply.

Saint Jude Partnership: Disney Night On Broadway!
In October we partnered with Saint Jude in an autism awareness fundraiser. FYDE put together a Disney Night On Broadway for two. Included were two tickets to Disney's Lion king, Dinner for two at the renowned Glass House Tavern, and a personal backstage tour with Gavin Lee (Scar).
"Sending you a giant thank you! Great restaurant, wonderful show...the backstage tour was icing on the cake! Gavin is not just a dynamite actor but a wonderful tour guide/human! "
